I have sent some things in the past to this lady. This time frame is just
too early for most records. Marriage records will not list parents and
death records did not start until 1882. I found the following land
records:
Humphrey Denend bought land Feb. 9, 1860, 40 acres in Jefferson Twp.
James Denend bought land Oct. 16, 1836, 240 acres in Lancaster Twp.
Peter Foust bought land Aug. 16, 1851, 80 acres in Lancaster Twp.
Marriages:
Demming, Humphry & Emma Harris, 22 Aug 1863, Huntington Co.
Denand, James & Catharine Cook, 4 Aug. 1848
Denand, Umphre D. & Ruth Wright, 28 Feb. 1846
Dinand, William & Mary Ann Ketner, 17 Feb. 1850
Denand, Eliza Ann & Joseph W. Garrard, 29 Nov. 1860
Denend, Ellen & Isaac S. Yehumy ?, 25 Feb. 1861
Denend, Jarusha & Peter Fout, 31 Mar. 1839
Dinend, Humphrey & Elizabeth Winter, 24 Sep. 1840
1840 census - Peter Fouts (Louts in index)

Denning, Ruth, 25, born IN
Denning, Samuel, 8, born IN
Denning, Eliza A., 6, born IN
Denning, Elisabeth, 5, born IN
Denning, Nancy J., 2, born IN
(Jarusha, at 21, is not the mother of Sarah & Martha. She and Peter
married in 1839)
I told this lady I feel Jarusha and Humphrey could be brother/sister.
The Fouts and Denand, Danand, etc. cannot be found in any cemeteries nor
in any wills.
Can anyone do some checking on records
(land, death (wills/probate/estate) ) for a
family name of Denend/Denand/Dinand/
Denning/Demming that may have been in
your area circa 1835. Daughter married 1839
Peter Fouts, her name Jerusha.
Would anyone be able to walk some of the
older cemeteries and tell me if there are
people with this same last name? Thanks
