Greetings, list members,
After a month long (daily) effort to implement changes at work, I am finally
able to keeping up with the Huntington County site on a regular basis. For
those of you who did not make contact with me during that time frame, you
probably did not notice my absence <g>. Others have been in contact and have
not gotten immediate responses and I apologize.
I would like to address the issue of Roll Calls on this list. As far as I
can tell, we don't have a problem with them. They show up occasionally and
we deal with them. I'm sure many of you don't like the extra clutter in your
mailbox, but you've been gracious enough to let it go by. On another list I
monitor, the debate got quite heated and everyone changed their focus from
genealogy to arguing about roll calls. I would like to avoid that here if at
all possible.
When I took over the Huntington County site, I added a "Surnames" page. This
eventually grew to two pages. Today, I renamed them "Rollcall". Rather than
clutter this list with roll calls, please send me (privately) the Huntington
County names you are researching and I will add them to the list. By the
same token, please review the lists on a regular basis to see if there is
anyone you can help.
As always, please let me know if you have suggestions to improve the
Huntington County site. Also, contributions of materials always welcome (and
appreciated).
