Message Board Post:
I haven't posted for a while, and have acquired some new information since the last
time I did post, so I thought I'd put it up here and see if anyone knows anything
about these families.
William BOSTON is my 3rd-great-grandfather. He was born about 1801 in Virginia (census
records), married Rachel RADER in 1825 in Fairfield County, Ohio (Fairfield Co. USGenWeb
site info, Fairfield Co. Historical Society info), and died in 1872 at Brown's Corners
(now Toledo), Huntington County, Indiana. He and Rachel had 5 children, all born in
Fairfield County, Ohio:
Mary - b. 1830, m. Sam BRUBAKER in Indiana in 1850, d. 1894, 7 children
Lucinda - b. 1834, m. Stan LARR or LAHR in Indiana in 1854, d. 1916, 6 children
John - b. 1839--may have served with an Indiana regiment in the Civil War, doesn't
appear in the census after 1870, can't find any other record of him
Jacob (my gg-grandfather) - b. 1840, served with Indiana 143rd Volunteers in Civil War, m.
Mary MEYER in 1864 in Brunswick Missouri; the couple moved to Brown's Corners to be
with the rest of the family until William and Rachel died, then moved back to Brunswick to
be near Mary's family. Jacob died in 1932 in Brunswick, Chariton County, Missouri. 4
children
William - b. 1842, may have served with an Indiana regiment in the Civil War, d. 1872,
apparently never married
I don't know whether there might be obituaries for William Sr, Rachel, and William Jr.
I believe that William Sr., Rachel, Mary, Lucinda, and William Jr. are all buried in the
Barnes Chapel Cemetery. I'm also curious if anyone knows what may have happened to
the "lost" son, John.
