Oakley E. "Diz" Wineke, 83, Fort Wayne, died Wednesday (April 26, 2006) at
Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Wineke had worked for Pennsylvania Rail Road and Amtrak for more than 43 years and was
a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Anthony Wayne First Church of God,
American Legion Post 82, and VFW Post 1006, all of Fort Wayne.
He was born May 29, 1922 in Huntington, to Edward and Kathryn Okuly Wineke.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Wineke; a son, Edward Wineke, Fort Wayne; a daughter,
Deborah Graves, Huntington; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Calling is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408
Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, with calling
one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
