James M. Bell
A memorial service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Banquo Christian Church for James M.
Bell, 71, Marion, who died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday (April 25, 2006) at Marion General
Hospital.
Mr. Bell worked at the Majestic Company and Eagle-Picher in Huntington, and at Delta
Electric, Marion, before his retirement. He was a member of Phoenix Lodge 62 F&AM in
Rushville, Maxwell Chapter 18 R.A.M. in Connersville, Fayette Council 6 R&SM in
Connersville, and Connersville Commandery 6 K.T. He was also a member of the Masonic
Shrine in Indianapolis.
He enjoyed creating wooden toys for children and for seven years he distributed toys
through Our Lady of Victory Missionary nuns to missions throughout the United States.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Rushville to James M. and Ida Mae Foley Bell Sr. He is
survived by his wife of 52 years, Caron DeLong Bell; a daughter, Cathy Hagadorn of
Wyalusing, Pa.; three sons, Jim Bell of Banquo, Richard Bell of Marion, and Edward Bell of
Columbia, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren
and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Rev. Gary Riley conducted the memorial service. Casey Lloyd Funeral Home, Marion, was in
charge of arrangements.
