Poorman, Charles M. Thursday, October 31, 1955
Charles Monroe Poorman. 59, died unexpectedly at 6:05 o'clock Thursday- morning
at his home, 802 Jackson street, following an illness of only a few hours. Mr. Poorman had
worked from 6 o'clock Wednesday night until midnight as a fireman at the Huntington
Asbestos complany plant.
Mr. Poorman was born in Lancaster township August 25, 1875, to Henry and Nancy Poorman and
his first marriage was to Ella MaeTharp. The wife and a son preceded him in death. Four
daughters from. the marriage are Mrs. Attie Lee, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Fern Baker, Fort Wayne;
Mrs. Ella Heaston, Markle, and Mrs. Rowena Cochran, Huntington. One grandchild also
survives.
The second marriage was to Mrs. Nelle Hubbart, who survives. Brothers are John Emery
Poorman, Fort Wayne, and Clyde Poorman, Markle. Two sisters died in childhood. Mr. Poorman
was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Markle.
Funeral services will be held at the Huntington Church of the Brethren at 2
o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. D. B. Garber, Markle, and the Revs. H. H.
Keim and M. G. Cole of this city officiating.
Interment will be in the Lancaster cemetery.
