The late Eliphalet Brandenburg was one of the successful farmers of
Huntington county, and for many years a prominent citizen of the township of Clear
Creek. He was born January 15, 1818, near New Carlisle, Clark county, Ohio,
and there grew to manhood on his father's homestead. In 1840 he came to
Indiana, locating in -------------
Good morning,. From my file, Eliphalet was the son of Samuel and Joanna
CHITTESTER BRANDENBURG -- He of Maryland and she of New Jersey. Eliphalet's
brother, Aaron married Louisa ARGABRIGHT -- they were also in Jay County, Indiana
by 1850. His brother, Moses, died in Huntington Co., IN in 1892. It is just
interesting to me that two of my Callison 1/2 brothers (John and William B.)
went to Whitley County, IN where one died in 1878 and in 1880, his widow,
Levina HUGHEL CALLISON is living in the household of John's 1/2 brother, Anthony
CALLISON in Huntington Co., IN. That whole dissertation is just to show that
even if the Clark Co. families did not intermarry, it looks as though they
stayed in touch with each other throughout their moves. . Anyone else claim
someone from Clark Co., OH to Huntington Co. IN. Take care. Marilyn
