Jan & Lisa --
Henry County Genealogical Services (HCGS) is not affiliated with the now apparently
defunct Henry County Genealogical Society; they are two separate organizations.
I sent an e-mail inquiry to Bud Bush, who is the contact point noted on the HCGS home
page. I did not get a reply, but the HCGS website is now back up, and at least some of
the links from the Henry County USGenWeb site have been restored (I did not check all of
them). I am relieved that the HCGS website is still available (though it apparently has
not been updated with any new material for almost two years); it is a major source of
information for researching my PAINTER, MILLER, TOMLINSON and related families in 19th
century Henry County.

I don't have a clue about that three year old notice. The HCGS website is down. I
understand it is being worked on and will be back up as soon as possible. It is NOT being
disbanded.

I don't know if that might be what happened? I agree, there was a lot of
information on that site!

To the List --
Does anyone know what happened to the HCGS website? All links to this website appear
to have been removed from the Henry County USGenWeb site, and the HCGS website itself now
seems to be accessible only via the Internet Archive Wayback machine. There is a ton of
valuable material on this website, and it would be a real shame to lose it.
