Dear Henry Co. IN Roots List:
I've volunteered to take ownership of this discussion list. I must be
related to just about 80 percent (maybe an exaggeration, maybe not) of
Henry County's population, plus a fair percentage of Wayne County's
population as well. My ancestors were mostly Quaker, so it makes sense
for me to help out here where they lurked before. Most of my ancestors
are in the eastern and southern part of Henry County; some were in
Hancock County and Rush County at various points in their lives.
I'd like to get to know who is on this list and what people are
interested in researching at the moment. Please feel free to introduce
yourselves, and also please invite others to join this list as you
engage in ongoing genealogical research.
Here's my stuff:
My WorldConnect data is at:
http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=t1m0thyw2lls
my email is: <twwalls(a)prodigy.net> and I live in Louisville, KY.
The Henry County, IN surnames with which I am currently fascinated at
the moment are: WALL, WALLS, VICKERY/VICKREY/VICKROY, BROOKSHIRE,
LINDAMOOD, JERRELL/JARRELL, and HINSHAW, all from NC to Henry Co., IN. I
highly recommend the Hinshaw web site at:
http://www.blueneptune.com/~hinshaw
I am also researching HARDIN, MACY, LAMB, ELLIOTT, RICH, BENBOW, MODLIN,
all from NC to IN, and, from Ireland's County Meath area, the GREEN
surname, and from N. Ireland's County Tyrone area, the ARMSTRONG and
HAGNEY surnames. From Germany, by way of Knox County, IN to Henry Co.,
IN, the surnames MILLER and HOLMAN.
Other lists I own are: VICKERY-L(a)rootsweb.com , INHENDRI-L(a)rootsweb.com
and the related surname boards. (there are seven boards for each list,
including Henry County, IN. I do not run the Queries board nor the Bios
board for Henry County, IN, but will help run the other five boards,
which are: Bible Records, Deeds, Obits, Pensions, and Wills.
This is not a very busy list so far. But I am sure that will change!
Feel free to share your latest findings in regards to this county. The
rules are flexible, not ironclad. I help with Hendricks Co., IN roots
list and it's become a real neighborhood over there as well. The County
Coordinator for that County has merged about 5000 names from many
people's donated GEDCOMs into one single WorldConnect database titled,
"Hendricks Co. IN". I would be willing to help do something like that
for Henry County, IN, because I already have so much data related to
Henry County. Let me know your thoughts.
Kind regards,
Tim Walls, Listowner
