GenFest 2007 is sneaking up on us, folks!
A number of cemeteries and funeral homes are partnering with Marion Public Library to
provide look-ups and assistance to researchers during GenFest. Information on other
cemeteries will be available through the Marion Public Library with the help of their
trusty staff in the Indiana Room.
To date, vendors signed up for your research interests are:
Anderson Public Library
Muncie Public Library
Wabash Carnegie Public Library
Sons of Confederate Veterans, A.J. Ringo Camp #1509
Continental Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution
General Francis Marion Daughters of the American Revolution
United Daughters of the Confederacy
Grant County Historical Society
Henry County Historical Society
Madison County Historical Society

Fun Stuff for Genealogists
Marion Public Library is providing extra hours to give you plenty of time for in-depth
research. Don't forget - they're wireless! Bring your laptops and cameras, plan
on eating with new found friends and family in the big tent outside and try not to miss
The Company Singers who will be doing period songs and music. By all means, don't
forget to sign up as you go into the library complex so you don't miss out on drawings
for some great door prizes.
If you're coming for an overnight stay, check the link for "Accommodations".
You'll want to plan a little ahead and browse the list of Marion Public Library
Indiana Room's impressive list of "Reference Resources". Believe me,
they're showing only the tip of the iceberg in that list.
There is ample parking, including plenty of handicap accessible parking and entrance.
One personal note: Right there in the library is the Museum portraying Marion and Grant
County's history from her earliest days. Don't miss it.
Remember - this event is free. We don't buy your food, gas, memberships or gifts but
GenFest is free. Where else can you spend two days having so much fun and accomplishing
so much for so little? You can't do better than that.
