GenFest officially ends when the Local History and Genealogy Library closes at 8 so this
would be a neat way to end your day.
Muncie Civic Theater - Continuing our series of cabaret-style revues celebrating
America's greatest composers, MCT is proud to present this portrait of two masters of
20th Century music. Hoagy and Cole were both born and raised in small Indiana farming
communities and both grew to achieve unparalleled success in the music industry. This new
musical cabaret, compiled and directed by Civic Executive Director Darrin Murrell, uses
Hoagy and Cole's own words and the words of their family, friends and colleagues in a
series of anecdotal vignettes. These scenes serve as transitions between songs as they
trace the very different paths each man followed from their humble beginnings through
their celebrated lives. Nostalgia fills the room as audiences sample coffeehouse-style
refreshments by candlelight and enjoy such standards as "Stardust", "Night
& Day", "Lazy River", "Let's Misbehave" and many many
more. Cast members include Murrell, Julie Barber, Bonnie DeLong and Marty Grub!
