Tim,
My James family of Henry co, IN is not connected to the NC one as far as I
know.
Samuel JAMES & wife Hannah (SMITH) moved from PA to VA to Ohio, where they
died. Their child Evan JAMES was b. in PA, and moved with his family to
Ohio, where he married Rebecca PICKERING. Evan & Rebecca were among the
early settlers of Henry co, settling there around 1823-1824. Their children
were born in OH and Henry county. Arthur James is a descendent of Evan &
Rebecca. The Smiths, Pickerings and James were all Quaker families. Many
of the Pickerings moved to Henry county from Ohio as well.
Susan

Subject: [INHENRY] GARNER/JAMES link to NC
1850 Census, Randolph Co., NC page 170, Northern Division
Enumerated 18th day of August 1850.

M. E. JAMES 26 Male Farmer NC
M. JAMES 26 Female NC cannot read or write
C. S. JAMES 3 Female NC
M. E. JAMES was bondsman for marriage bond of Nancy RICHERSON and Jacob
GARNER on 5 Oct 1845 Randolph Co., NC. RCGS Journal, page 55, Spring
1982, Vol. VI, No. 2
John JONES m. Elizabeth RICHERSON 15 Sept 1808.
It appears that this Jacob GARNER and Nancy RICHERSON are the missing
link we seek. I am puzzled by the age for Nancy GARNER above. Who was
this family?
Also, are these JAMES linked to the Henry County family?
