Yes, there was a poor farm in Henry Co. It was across from Memorial Park on
a hill. There now is the 4-H Bld. north of the Big lake. Across the paved
road is a hill and on top of that hill was the poor farm. If anyone can go
to the New Castle Public Library
there should be some info on it there the lady that is in charge, is there
mornings but not in the afternoon usually. I remember Christmas Caroling
there with our school chorus and drinking a cup of chocolate there after we
sang.
Gad that was a long time ago. Wish I could pin point it better but that is
where it was.......Beej
PS It was there in the 40's as that was when I was in school in Cadiz. It
has since
been closed down. I do not know why. The library has microfilm newspapers
that
one could find news on the closing I wouldl think.
