Hi all. As I said I would try to do occasionally, I am posting another article from
PERSI. This one would not scan well so I am doing it the old fashioned way... typing.
There are several families spoken of in this 3 page article, and I am a slow typist, so I
will send these one family at a time. I hope someone finds some usefull info in these.
Below is the first.

Noble BUTLER was born in Spiceland Township, Henry Co., IN, May 30, 1826 (this is probably
suppose to be "1812"). His father, Levi BUTLER, was a native of Georgia, and
moved to Indiana with his mother settling in Salisbury, the old county seat of Wayne Co.
He was a soldier in the War of 1828, and after his return, in February, 1816, was married
to Elizabeth CARR, a native of Kentucky, who came to Indiana with her parents in an early
day. They moved to Spiceland Township, this county, and settled on the ____ (I presume
"land") where they reared their family and spent their lives. Levi BUTLER died
in 1860, and his wife in 1866. Of their family of four boys and three girls, two sons,
Hiram and WIllis, enlisted in the War of the Rebellion. Hiram was taken prisoner, and
died in Charleston, SC; Willis was killed in the Battle of Chickamauga. Noble BUTLER
married Elizabeth FISHER, who died in 1879, leaving three children, two of whom were Mary
A. and W. L. He was a member o!
f the Presbyterian Church.
