Subject: WPA indexes
I would like to know where the 1882-1920 WPA index is available for births
and deaths in Henry County. The same
information is needed for the Wayne County indexes also.

I have the book Indiana Genealogical Research by George K Schweitzer
on page 99 it reads as follows:::::::::::
Among the matereials which could be of assistance to you are the following.
Many of them are incomplete and there are errors in them, some worse than
others.
The first listed is and reads:::::::::::
WPA of IN, INDEXES OF BIRTH AND DEATH RECORDS IN INDIANA COUNTIES FOR THE
YEARS 1882 - 1920, The WPA, Indianapolis, IN 1937-41. Available for only 68
of the 92 counties. See separate listings under the counties in Chapter 4.
Available in ISL, ACPL, and FHL(FHC)
In Chapter 4 pages 153-154 for Henry Co. and pages 182-183 for Wayne Co.
Read alike and states:::::::::::
Printed/microfomed/CDROM records (most in ISL-IHS, many in FHL>FHC, many in
ACPL, some in PLC)
In the discription of what is available in both counties both list WPA
volumes.
On page 36 is a LIST OF ABBREVIATIONS which translates for the above.
ISL = IN State Library, INdianapolis, IN
IHS = IN Historical Society, Indianapolis, IN
FHL = Family History Library, Salt Lake City, UT
FHC = Family HIstory Center(s) My note local LDS libraries
ACPL = Allen County Public Library, Ft. Wayne, IN
PLC = There was no explantation for this but would assum it to be a Public
lLbrary and the C maybe for Center
If there are any questions I would be happy to try and answer them to the
best of my ability. Answers should be in the above mentioned book in my
possession..
