Hello to all,
This is my first posting to your list site and I wish to introduce myself.
I am John Axon living in Tripoli, Iowa researching my surname AXON. My lineage
originated from Cheshire, England and immigrated in 1841 to New York and then to Wisconsin
and finally to Iowa.
I just found on the 1920 census for Liberty Township, Henry County, Indiana, JOSEPH E.
AXON who would be the son of my 2nd. great grandparents JOSEPH and ELIZA MEADOWCROFT AXON.
Until this finding, I have been unable to trace this Joseph.
I found on
Ancestry.Com, the marriage of JOSEPH E. AXON to KITTY LaBOYTEAUX in Henry
County on 21 Dec 1892. I believe that they lived in Iowa for sometime before the Indiana
1920 census.
Could some kind soul please visit the Henry County court house or a local Historical
Society and do a look-up for the date of death and burial site for this JOSEPH E. AXON?
It is reported without fact that his year of death was 1930.
Thank you for your time in reading the above and any assistance you my provide.
Regards,
John Axon
