I am not sure what records survive for Harrison County, but I am pretty sure
that births were not documented that early. Not knowing what you have
looked at already, I would check wills, probate and estate records for
Andrew. Also, look at land transactions around the time that Andrew died to
see if any of his land may have been sold upon his death; sometimes you can
get clues there. You could also check for church records in the area if you
know their religion.
How old was Andrew in 1815? If he was born in the 1780's - 1790's, he may
have fought in the War of 1812 and received a pension or bounty land. The
application files may be able to help as well.
These are just some ideas; someone more familiar with the area may know more
and be able to suggest other items.

Are there any records that document births for the 1815 forward in Harrison
County, Indiana. I have been trying for years to find documentation that
my g g grandfather John B. McCune is indeed the oldest son of Andrew
McCune, Jr. The 1840 US Census shows a son living with the Andrew McCune,
Jr. family and then further records show for sure that John B. McCune got
married to Sarah Ripperdan-Summers shortly thereafter and lived in close
proximity to Andrew McCune thereafter until John is then found in Memphis,
Tn. with wife and family. Andrew is dead by then and his wife is living
with one of their daughters in Harrison County.
I am missing this one link as documented proof. Any suggestions on how to
prove that John B. McCune is indeed the son of Andrew McCune???
