Mrs. Myra MCCALLEN RONEY, (1880-1957)
Obituary dated Jan. 26, 1957, Kokomo Tribune, Howard County, IN
Mrs. Myra MCCALLEN RONEY, an eight year resident of Howard County, died Saturday, at the
Twilite Nursing Home. She was 76. Services will be held at the S. Purdum Street Pilgrim
Holiness Church with Rev. Ward Vanbriggle officiating. Burial will be in Salem, IN at
Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call at the Peacock Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roney was born at Palmyra, IN Feb. 12, 1880, the daughter of Hayes and Josephine
MCCALLEN.
On April 7, 1901, she was married to William RONEY at Fredricksburg. Mr. Roney died June
5, 1948.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Talmadge HATTABAUGH (Lottie) of Jeffersonville, and Mrs.
James FRAKES (Edna May) of Greentown; as well as 11 grandchildren and 13
great-grand-children.

Services were held at Ellers Mortuary in Kokomo, for Talmadge HATTABAUGH, age 76.
Born July 12, 1899 in Salem, IN, he was the son of Newton and Josephine (FLEENOR)
HATTABAUGH. He married Lottie Agnes RONEY, who survives him, on July 12, 1899, in
Washington County, IN.
The father of 10, Tal is survived by his children: Talmadge "Joe" Jr. of Boston,
Mass., William of Peru, Edgar of Galveston, Larry of Kokomo, Mrs. Mansford (Ruth) FLEENOR
and Mrs. Robert (Lucy) PURCIFULL of Kokomo, Mrs. Guy (Rene) HINER Jr. of Bunker Hill, and
Mrs. Matthew (Shirley) HICKS of Portsmouth, Va.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Harvey (Mary) TRUEBLOOD of Hartshorn, Okla., Mrs.
Frances WINGLER, Mrs. Herman (Carrie) KEMP, and Mrs. Minnie HAMILTON, all of Seymour, IN.;
two brothers, Doss and Roy HATTABAUGH of Salem, IN; 29 grandchildren and 16
great-granchildren.
Two daughters, Helen and Marjorie preceded him in death.
Lottie Agnes RONEY HATTABAUGH (1904-1987)

Services for Lottie Agnes RONEY HATTABAUGH, who died at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo
March 12, 1987, were held at Allen Funeral Home, Rev. Tennison Fitch officiating. Burial
was at Springdale Cemetery in Bunker Hill.
Born Oct. 8, 1904 near Fredericksburg, IN, she was the daughter of William and Myra
(MCCALLEN) RONEY. She was married Oct. 30, 1920, in Washington County, to Talmadge
HATTABAUGH who preceded her in death (Dec. 19, 1975).
Surviving are sons Talmadge "Joe", of Malden, Mass., William of Bunker Hill,
Larry of Kokomo, and Edgar of Galveston; daughters Mrs. Mansford FLEENOR (Ruth), Mrs. Lucy
ATTEBERY, both of Kokomo, Mrs. Howard WEBER (Rene) of Bunker Hill, and Mrs. Matthew HICKS
(Shirley) of Portsmouth, Va.; a sister, Mrs. James FRAKES (Edna May) of Kokomo;25
grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hattabaugh was preceded in death by her husband, and two daughters, Helen and
Marjorie.

Marjorie Agnes Hattabaugh ( daughter of Talmadge Hattabaugh and Lottie Agnes Roney)was
born September 22,1921 in Washington Co.Indiana,and died May 21,1970 in Kokomo,Howard
County,Indiana. she married (1) Glen Hull. (2) Fred Lloyd Elrod.
Obituary in Kokomo Tribune,Kokomo,Indiana:
Mrs. Margie A.Elrod,48, Tall Timbers Trailer Court,died in the St. Joseph Memorial
Hospital at 8:45 p.m.Thursday following a two week illness.
Born in Salem,Sept.22,1921,she was the daughter of Talmadge and Lottie (Roney)
Hattabaugh,who both survive and live in Kokomo. She had lived in Kokomo for the past 20
years and was an employee at the cafeteria in Cuneo Press.
Surviving with the husband and parents are three daughters,Mrs.Larry(Carol
Jean)Nale,Salem;and Miss Karen and Miss Georgeanne Elrod {note:should be Hall},both at
home;three sons;Leonard and Gene Elrod,both of Kokomo,and Keith Elrod and a
grandson,Christopher Dawson,whom she was raising,both at home. Five other grandchildern
also survive in addition to five sisters,Mrs.Mansford(Ruth) Fleenor,Mrs.Myra Wolfe, and
Mrs.James(Edna) Frankes{Edna was Marj's aunt,the},all of Kokomo,;Mrs. Guy (Irene)
Hiner Jr, Peru R.R.5,and Mrs.Matthew (Shirley) Hicks,Portsmouth,Va.; four
brothers,Talmadge(Joe) Hattabaugh,Malden, Mass., William and Larry Hattabaugh both of
Kokomo,and Edgar Hattabaugh, Miami, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Ellers Funeral Chapel with Burial to
follow in Crown Point Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel between 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 9 p.m.
Sunday.
