Casper Eslinger was in the Harrison County Indiana 1830 census listed as "Gasper
Esllinger" about the 11th name down on page 146/126 of the actual census, for Morgan
Township.
Casper Eslinger had at least on land entry in the General Index to Deeds -GRANTEE-
1809-1843 Harrison County, IN as follows:
Grantee ESLINGER, Casper from TODD, William warranty [Instrument ]
deed dated 13 July 1830
date recorded 8 Nov 1830
Recorded in Vol F page 371
W1/2 NW qrtr, Section 28 Twp 1 Range 4, (8 acres).
This GRANTEE INDEX is LDS Family History Library (FHL) microfilm 1404902 (but verify this
yourself), item 2 of film. This at least gets you started. I would recommend that you
check the index Grantee, and then the Grantor index as well. Once you verify the correct
volume and page (i.e., vol F page 371) you can order the correct microfilm and possibly
find the court-recorded deed entry. But check the indexes as there may be more entries for
Casper.
Years ago when I was actively researching this Eslinger line, a contact (with undocumented
sources) informed me that Casper was married first to Sally DITTMORE on 20 Jun 1789,
Greene County, Tennessee. That may be a lead for you to follow up. He married Francis
Austin (who had been previously married and was likely a widow) in Harrison County,
Indiana as others have replied to your query. The marriage I found for Casper and Francis
was in the typed abstractions from the original manuscript and on FHL microfilm. That
typed work is titled "Marraige Register for Harrison County". However, you may
find the simple listing for the Eslinger marriage online at such websites as Indiana
Trails.
Casper Eslinger may have died intestate; I followed the legal process of his estate
through the court terms spanning a number of years. THEN, his wife Francis died and her
probate with the guardianship of the minor children, run through the court terms for more
years. These records are buried throughout several FHL microfilms called Order Books for
Harrison County, Indiana. These are not indexed and you have to meticulously, patiently,
scan/search each page for the names you are seeking but it can pay off. However, you could
also contact the "Frederick Porter Griffin Center for Local History and
Genealogy" at the Harrison County, Indiana public library and ask to have their list
of probates checked for Casper and/or Francis. If they have them (and they probably do),
you can pay for them to print out the probate. I hope something here helps.
Sincerely,
vicky

I am looking for more information on Casper Eslinger. I would like to find out where he is
buried. If there is a death record. If there is a second marriage record. Where he was
located between the known 1790 census and the 1820 census. Where he is listed on the 1830
census. I have found out a lot of information on his three sons John, Thomas, and Adam who
moved to Cedar County Missouri. I want to find out more about Casper
