In an earlier post, I stated that I thought the Adams family left Harrison in the 1770s.
That was my mistake. I should have said 1870s.
To Dan Cotner: the James Adams you reference is the one I have in mind. James Adams
probably did have the middle initial of W or possibly M. I have a number of references
to transactions between Leander and J.W./James W. I also have an index entry for James
Adams receiving land from Thomas R. McKim, dated 1853.
I am descended from the Cotners. My second gr grandmother was Sarah Cotner, married to
Samuel Adams, a son of James W.

I have been following this thread and was wondering is this
James Adams the same ones I have with the son having a
middle initial of "H" b 5 may 1866 Harrison, In.
and the father middle initial "W" b 4 mar 1814
Nelson Co., Ky.?
