I am not an Adams researcher, but I am showing in my Kentucky/Indiana
data-base a James Adams b abt 1814 who married to a Sarah Tinley/Tinsley
(probably abt 1837 in Harrison or Martin Co IN). This James is listed in
the 1840 Harrison Co IN Census. I have a note on him saying his parents
were from Nelson, Muhlenburg Co, Kentucky. I am also showing a Benjamin
Adams, a Methodist Preacher, who arrived in Harrison Co IN abt 1817 ...
married Margaret Watson February 24, 1825 Martin Co IN My gggrandfather
George W Henson married Anna Forbish on July 21, 1825 Martin Co IN ... if
you come across any thing on them please let me know. Thanks Robert for
sharing. 'R.E.'

Subject: [INHARRIS] Benjamin Adams in Harrison County Probate index
Hi!
I am trying to find the parents of my 3rd gr
grandfather James Adams. He was born in KY in 1814,
moved to Harrison County, IN and then moved to and
died in Meade, KY in 1884.
Going through the Harrison County Probate index, I
found a Benjamin Adams listed early on. The left
column was titled box #, but Benjamin's entry had no
box number beside it. On the right side there was a
column headed "Term disposed of". Benjamin's entry
was # 1.
I'm asking for the advice of the Harrison probate
experts out there. Without a box number, would it make
sense just to go to the LDS film of the earliest
probate records? Any help would be appreciated!
Also, is anyone out there researching Leander Adams?
I believe I have found land transactions between James
Adams and Leander.
Families in Harrison: Adams, Tindall, Tinley, Terry,
Lethco, Cotner, McKim, Keller, Lay, Bird.
