Hello Pat,
I looked at the 1880 census you mentioned. Eveline's information seems to almost match
for her parents to be Pleasant & Rebecca.
Says she was born in TN, father SC & Mother TN.
Personally I think she probably belongs to them, but would need more proof. (Since they
are the only Lawson there in Harrison Co. at that time.) The only thing wrong is Pleasant
was born in NC, but it could be a mistake...it is still Carolina.
Pleasant's 1840 census has
1- male under 5 (John IN)
1-5 & under 10 (Elias IN)
2-10 & uner 15 (Andrew TN fits)
1-50 & under 60 (Pleasant NC)
1-female 5 & under 10 (Nancy IN)
2-female 15 & under 20 (Sarah TN & Mary TN fits)
1-20 & under 30 (Eveline TN fits)
1-40 & under 50 (Rebecca TN)
Guess Jackson was born shortly after the 1840 census.
I did find a tie for Sarah to this family. 1860 John & Elias are living with her. I
never thought anything of it, because their last names are really butchered. Would like to
know that 2nd male around Andrew's age.
Now if I could only find where James Black & Sarah Lawson Black disappeared to in
1880!
Great to hear from you, feel free to email me anytime.
