Has any one heard of the Breeden Burial Ground? I have a Rhoda
Breeden who
died August 16, 1841 and was buried there.
YES,
The Breeden Burying ground is in the Harrison-Crawford Co Forrestry. To
get to it you go west out of Corydon on old Hy 62. Follow this to the rd.
on the Left Leading to The Forrestry, Go to the Main Gate ask Directions,
AND SIGN IN for the cemetery, for this there is no charge to enter to go to
the Cemetery. It is on the right on the same rd as Potato Run cemetery
about 250 feet after you turn right. It is up a little bank with a new Sign
indicating the Breeden Burial Site. It is about 250 feet before Potato Run
church and Cemetery. But I believe you will not find the stone. 90 percent
are down and almost all of those buried. I am preparing to try to locate
all buried stones starting about the first week of October. The name may
have been recorded, and be on file in the Geneaology Dept. at Corydon
Library. This was done about 1939. but if the stone is there, and is listed
you probably will not find it inb the cemetery. I can't guarantee this, but
I am pretty it will be down and buried. These stones were broken and over
the years horses went thru there and walked them under. If I can be
of more help please contact me.
