Thank you for answering my e-mail to you and my posting on the Pittsylvania
Co., VA website in such a timely fashion.
I now live in Va. Beach, VA and grew up in Danville, VA. Pittsylvania Co.,
VA surrounds Danville. You probably know that Peterfield Jefferson was the
first Jefferson in our lineage to move to Pittsylvania Co., VA.
I have e-mailed Juantia and Peter to ask permission to send their e-mail
addresses. I prefer to operate in this fashion. I feel sure that they
would have no objection, but I want to be sure. They are more closely
related to you than I because the three of you are related by way of Aunt
Elvira Cumi Jefferson Boaz.
You have not sent me any information. Last fall I wrote you about posting
the list of the 12 children of William Franklin Jefferson and Adeline
Abigail Grubb on Genforum. I would appreciate any information that you
could send me.
I knew that Cumi and Oliver Boaz married in Pittsylvania Co., VA and them
moved to Tennessee and eventually to Indiana. I do not have photographs of
their gravestone, nor any census information.
Names were repeated so often in our family, it can be confusing. I am
inquiring about the children of William Noten "Buck" Jefferson, the son of
William Franklin Jefferson. I am not asking about the children of Noten J.
Jefferson and Elizabeth Carter, parents of William Franklin Jefferson.
I am sending you four attachments of data about our lineage. I do not mean
to overwhelm you with facts, but I hope that some of this will be helpful.
Attachment 1: Jefferson Ancestors-1500s-1900s. Research continues with
these early ancestors, but this list represents the work of several
scholars.
Attachment 2: Children of William Franklin Jefferson and Adeline Abigail
Grubb. I have the family Bible of WFJ and AAG, so the birth dates are
authentic. The marriage dates of those who married in Pittsylvania Co., VA
have been verified by the marriage books in the clerk of court office in the
court house in Chatham VA which is the county seat.
Attachment 3: Grandchildren of WFJ and AAGJ. As you can see, this list is
not complete. I am trying to obtain information that I do not have.
Attachment 4: Descendants of John Thomas Jefferson, Sr. and Rosa Belle
Marilla. These people are my grandparents. This is done it great detail
because it has been written for our family reunion this summer.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to write.
Sincerely,
Betty Jefferson Harris
