A photograph showing the following was in this week's Monday
Shopper newspaper.
Located west and south of Corydon Post Office and at the foot of a steep
hill known as Pilot Knob, a Grist and Saw Mill was built by Henry J.
Fabrique.
In 1835, a native of Vermont, Mr. Fabrique sold the mill to John J.
Mauck
in 1864/ The hill with a large deposit of sandstone was quarried for
years
and the stone is still evident today in foundations of many older homes
in the Corydon area.
