Harrison County Deaths
Recent Harrison county deaths were:
David Wilson, a citizen of Elizabeth, died of the infirmities of age, aged
75 years. He leaves a son and daughter.
James Johnson, a citizen of Posey township, died.
Mrs. John Arnold, an old lady, who formerly residing at Valley City,
recently died at the home of her son, Emmett Arnold in Texas.
Charles R. Tabler, of Elizabeth, died of consumption , aged about 35 years.
He leaves a wife and three children.
Mrs. Cynthiana Bruce, widow of the late James Bruce, of Corydon, died at the
home of her son, Elder John Jacob, at Huntingburg, of pneumonia. Mrs. B. had
gone on a visit to Huntingburg and there took sick. She leaves three sons
residing at Corydon.
Mrs. Mary E. Onion, an old lady residing in the eastern part of Posey
township. She was eighty odd years old and lived alone. She ws the widow of
Hardin Onion who died forty years ago. Disease seized her and recently she
died. realizing that death ws impending, she disposed of her personal
property. Then she dictated the following instruments, which she called her
will, disposing of her real estate, evidencing the fact that she remembered
the poor:
Elizabeth, April 17, 1900
I, Mary E. Onion, being sane and in my right mind, do hereby will and
bequeath, irrevocably, all lands held by me in Posey township, Harrison Co.,
Ind., consisting of two tracts, containing respectively twenty two and one
half (22 1/2) acres, and one hundred and twenty (120) acres to Harrison
county asylum. Mary E. Onion
Elizabeth April 17, 1900
I Mary E. Onion, being sane and in my right mind, do will and bequeath to
the Widows' Home of New Albany, the following property lying in Franklin
township, Floyd Co., Ind., thirty seven and one half (37 1/2) acres of land.
