Pat, sometimes it is good to go back over our research. I think I found
some interesting connections. I am showing Joseph McCrary b abt 1748
married to Anna Powell 1768 'Culpeper Co' VA. It appears that Anna had a
sister 'Miriam Powell' who was the first wife of Joshua Lamb, stepfather of
'Betsy', wife of Rev War Vet William Henson of Randolph Co NC and of
Harrison/Martin Co IN. It also appears Joseph McCrary and Anna
Powell-McCrary (who moved to Rowan/Orange/Randolph Co NC area) are the
parents of Catherine McCrary who married Joseph Henson III, son of Joseph
Henson JR (remember Joseph Henson JR left a WILL dated Nov 16, 1842 Randolph
Co NC that you were not able to find), grandson of Joseph Henson and Anne
Rosse-Henson ... on Oct 18, 1818 Randolph Co NC (bondsman 'Jesse Henson').
Also, it appears that Joseph and Anna McCrary had a son John McCrary who
showed up in 1812 Randolph Co NC. John McCrary was also listed in the
1820 Wayne Co KY Census (along with Jesse Henson) and in the 1840 Crawford
Co IN Census ... must be connected to Rev War Vet Jesse Henson somehow; was
Jesse his brother-in-law?).
Also, John McCrary and John Henson (Jesse's brother?) witnessed the WILL of
David Fouts dated 1817 Harrison Co IN (David Fouts listed in 1800 Randolph
Co NC Census). An Eli McCrary witnessed a DEED in 1828 'Martin Co' IN for a
Samuel Berry. A Sarah McCrary married Isham Stroud of Randolph Co NC on Aug
24, 1811 in Harrison Co IN. There certainly appears to be a connection by
marriage of the McCrarys and Hensons, does'nt it? Needs more serious
research when we, or the other Henson researchers, have time. 'R.E.'
