FYI. The Greenfield Republican newspaper published a series of biographical
sketches of some of the prominent Hancock County old timers still alive in
1891. Included were biographies of the residents shown below. For those
interested in reading these bios, the microflim can be ordered via Inter
Library Loan from the Indiana State Library through your local Library. In
addition to those that formed a part of the series, I noted an independent
bio of William Curry that appeared in the 8/20/1891 edition. I thought it
interesting that of the 30 bios published, half were of women. I guess we
weren't that chauvanistic after all in 1891.
