Thank you, John, for this list. I wish some of my ancestors were on it! My
family that lived there were Phineas Hull Foy and his wife Eliza Ann
Pumphrey. Unfortunately, by 1891, they and their families had left for other
parts, some to Kansas and some to other areas in Indiana. Eliza's father was
Nicholas Ridgely Pumphrey, Jr. Eliza's mother, Alice Goe, died in
childbirth, giving birth to her third daughter, Eliza. Eliza's father
married second Laura Clifford. They had 8 daughters and only one son. One
of my Pumphrey ancestors was married to Elizabeth Frazier Strong, widow of
Samuel Strong. I am stumped on her ancestry.
I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about this line of my
ancestry.
