Carolyn, your Martin family was pretty intertwined with my own though I'm
not a direct descendant. Your Jefferson Martin's sisters Eliza and Mary
respectively married Richard Barrett (brother to my gg-grandmother Sarah Barrett
Stephens) and John Bailey Knight (brother to my gg-grandmother Polly Knight
Bennett). Jefferson's brother Albarian married Polly Bennett's daughter Adelia
Bennett, sister to my great-grandmother Rosa Lee Bennett Stephens. My
grandfather Albarian (Alberian) Stephens was named for Al Martin, and the Albarian
name came down in the Stephens family.
Would love to have whatever information you have on your Martins. I know
Sampson and Rebecca were married in Hancock County in 1840 and that Sampson was
born in Highland County, OH (if I have that right - I'm writing this from
memory). I also have ties to the Curry family and several other families who
lived in the Curry's Chapel area. You can email me at _otlink(a)aol.com_
