John's family may have lived close to his younger brother Andrew Wall
who lived in Shelby County, IN or just a bit north in Hancock County,
IN. He might be in the 1870 Census of those counties. Another place to
check would be Grant County, IN, but this is less likely. Also, his wife
Ruth Robbins was probably Quaker, but that does not mean he stayed
Quaker in Indiana or Kansas. His father Jesse was Baptist, his uncle
Brittain was Quaker, and his uncle Wiley was Methodist. To further
muddy the waters, his grandmother Mary Brittain/Bratton was Quaker, in
or near Center MM, Randolph county, NC, but the whole Bratton family
left Springfield MM in 1806.
