Hi Ron !! Its good to hear from you!!
Yes, I sure would like to have any information you might have on any of the
Eastes and Harvey families. At that time, they are all related to Obadiah
Eastes and Francis Harvey. There are still many in the area.
I have been in touch with Dr. Sharon Kingen in McCordsville, IN over the
years. She is a cousin of the Eastes line and helps me in my research. I don't
think I have ever communicated with Joni (Williams) Curtis. Does she have an E
mail address?
In the "History of Franklin County Indiana, Her People, Industries and
Institutions," by August J. Reifel, published in 1915, places Obadiah in Section 26
in 1813. In "Indiana Land Entries, Volume 1, Cincinnati District 1801-1840,"
By Margaret Waters, Indianapolis, 1948, states, "Obadiah Eastes, North West
1/2, Section 26, 8 July 1813."
When looking at the map Franklin County today, we find that most of Section
26 in Fairfield Township, is dedicated to "Mounds State Park and Recreation
Area."
My curiousity is really aroused about your abstract! Cumberland is not too
far from Mt Comfort and I wonder which Eastes or Harveys settled there. Both
families had migrated from SC into KY and then into IN Terr. in 1804. Later they
moved north, both the Eastes and Harveys staying close together.
Would it be possible to send me a very brief synopsis of your abtract with
the names?
Any small piece of information will be appreciated as it all fits somewhere
in the overall puzzle!
Best Regards
Roy Eastes

I would like to hear from any ESTES/ EASTES/ EASTUS/ etc. - or HARVEY who
has a Hancock Co., IN connection. I would like to hear from anyone who has a
connection to these families by marriage.
My 3rd ggrandparents were Obadiah Eastes/Estes and Francis Harvey who are
buried in the Eastes/Harvey cem at Mt Comfort, Hancock Co., IN. They were
pioneers in the area.
I have a new web site at -
www.estes-eastes.com with their ancestors and
descendants. I expect to upgrade this web site soon to include additions to
the
ESTES line back to 1495 in England. On the present site the HARVEY line is
shown bnack to William HARVEY brn in Ireland abput 1700. There are 6700+
people
on the site now and after the new upgrade there will be about 11,000.
If anyone has any information on the ESTES/ EASTES/ EASTUS/ etc or HARVEY
lines would appreciate hearing from you!!
