I am a descendant of Isaac Van Duyn and Phebe Judge who are buried in Harlan
Cemetery in Brown Township. They had twelve children according to Census
records and Hazzard's History of Henry County, Indiana, 1822-1906, Military
Edition, Volume 1, "Biographical Sketch of Isaac Van Duyn", Pages 444-445.
I am descended from their oldest son George W. Van Duyn who married Sarah A.
Tague.
Isaac Van Duyn who married Phebe Judge is as far back as I have researched
my Van Duyn ancestry (I have concentrated on other branches of my family
thus far).

To all;
There is a large number of individuals (living and dead) who are members of
the Van Duyn clan and who are also associated with Hancock Co. My guess is
that they all descend from a John Van Duyn (b. ca 1762) and Elizabeth ---.
The ultimate connection from this Van Duyn to the first Van Duyn who arrived
in New Netherland 1n 1649 is unknown (at least to me.)
The trail, as best as I can determine, begins in New Jersey. Then
Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Wabash Co., Ind., and finally Hancock Co. The
patriarch of the Hancock Co. branch appears to be Isaac Van Duyn (b. ca 1796)
who fathered at least nine children with three wives.
Is anyone following Van Duyn?
Dick Van Duyne
