Hi
I am basing my information on the marriage of Jennie Prickett to[widorer]
Leonard Moomey 1875.
The 1880 census in Vernon MO. And the tombstone for Jennie b 1856 d
1933.
I got Josiah from other email s.
If Jennie Parents were in Ind in 1870 then Jennie came fron Indiana to Ill
to work,
Who were Jennie Parents?
Paul

Hi Paul,
what is your next Prickett generation that you are basing this from?
Are you certain that your Josiah & Elizabeth were married in Hancock
county?
Because it looks to me like the 1849 marriage to Elizabeth Snodgrass is
the
only Josiah Prickett marriage around that time in Hancock county. And I
would think that the Josiah & Elizabeth that stay in Vernon township,
Hancock county are probably those two. That Josiah dies in 1872, and two
of
his sons die within a few years after that.
That family is still in Vernon township in 1870. And they live next door
to
two Caudle families.
If your Josiah & Elizabeth weren't the ones in Vernon township in 1870,
then
I don't think they were probably the ones married in Hancock county in
1849.
A lot of the Pricketts seem to come, first from Virginia/West Virginia,
and
then from Clermont county Ohio. There are a number of Josiahs in
Clermont,
and in 1860 there is one with a wife Elizabeth and children Eliza, Mary,
George & Frances. But they look like they probably married about 1843. I
can't seem to find the Josiah in Sangamon county Illinois that you
mentioned
in 1870. (How I do love a conundrum though!)
