To find out anything about these cemeteries, you could contact the courthouse information,
Greenfield Indiana and they may be able to direct you to Hall of Records, or Dept of
Health, not sure what it is called for this county.
Hope this helps, as these are all the VanZants listed in Hancock County. Show no listing
for VanZant in Shelby County, Indiana. Linda Ellis Mount Vernon Washington

Subject: [INHANCOC] Gilliam Chapel Cemetery??
Hi, All
We're seeking information on a Gilbert Van Zandt (and alternate spellings)
who is presumed to have died in Hancock Co ~1865. He was originally from NJ
and we're looking for anything which might establish that he was the son of
Isaac VanZ who died in IN in1827 (but in Franklin Co. we believe.)
We believe Gilbert to be buried in The Gilliam Chapel Cemetery, which,
according to the Indiana State Library Genealogy Division Cemetery Database
http://199.8.200.90:591/cemetery.html is located at:
VERNON TWP McCORDSVILLE LOC N RAILROAD ST, MC CORDSVILLE, HANCOCK COUNTY
but I can't find any confirmation of that or way to contact the cemetery by
phone. Would anyone happen to know anything that might help us here??
Many thanks!
