I am researching the Thomas KENNEDY family who lived in Buck Crk Twp.,
Hancock Co., IN from 1840 until the death of Thomas, in 1876.
At this time I am creating a paper trail for a son of Thomas whose name is
listed on Hancock Co IN censuses as James L. (the L. is for Levi); however,
on Civil War documents he was known as Levi M. KENNEDY.
With the aid of the Civil War papers I have found him on the 1880 census of
Buchanan Co., MO where he is listed as James KENNEDY.
The wife of James, in Buchanan Co, on the 1880 census is Lucinda, and the
children listed with them are: Amanda age 19, Eliza age 15, John age 8,
Frank age 5, Lottie or Lollie age 4 mo. From Civil War pension application
for Lucinda this is the correct family.
The children are all listed as sons and daughters which seems highly
unlikely, as James is only 32 and Lucinda is 34. Lucinda was previously
married to L..K. STRICKLAND, in 1870, and he was from Council Bluffs, IA.
John KENNEDY listed on the census could have been the son of L.K. and
Lucinda
as they did have a son, John, b abt 1871. He could have been known as
KENNEDY as opposed to STRICKLAND as L.K. STICKLAND died shortly after his
birth.
James Levi or whatever his name is, was married to Lucinda STRICKLAND, in
MO., in 1872.
If anyone has *any* info on any of the above I would appreciate hearing from
you
