LIST OWNER THIS IS OFF TOPIC YOU MAY DELETE IF YOU SO DESIRE.
IT DOES NOT HAVE SURNAMES OR ST OR CO NAMES.
I found the following on another list and thought this might be a bit of
GENEALOGY TRIVIA that would be of interest to some. Me I have printed out
several and put one in several of my genealogy notebooks that are used
frequently, that way I don't have to run to one all the time if a postage
date is in question. Beej

Subject: Stamps on old letters
Do you have a stash of old family letters with blurred unreadable postmarks
and no dates inside? These postal rate changes will help a little on dating
those old letters.
July 1, 1885 2 cents
Nov 3, 1917 3 cents
July 1, 1919 2 cents
July 6, 1932 3 cents
Aug 1, 1958 4 cents
Jan 7, 1963 5 cents
May 16, 1971 8 cents
Mar 2, 1974 10 cents and up
I was not aware of the change up and down from 2 to 3 cents and that fact
explains some of my dating problems. I read this information in a newspaper
back in Jan when they were proposing a new postal increase.

Hi, I'm Robin Poppy and I'm looking for the following surnames in and around
Handcock Co. during the mid-late 1800's:
CAUDELL, David m. SMITH, Hannah their daughter, Mary Jane CAUDELL b. 19 June
1843 in Handcock Co. IN
Mary Jane CAUDELL married William Riley BANNON in 1861
William Riley BANNON's biological father was supposed to have been an Indian
by the name of VEECH/VEACH. He was raised by a grandfather and took the
grandfather's name since his parents were never married.
I'm looking to go further back with David CAUDELL and Hannah SMITH.
Thank you,
Robin

Hi, I am Nancy Brinker Trezise. My Hancock County ancestors are from
Buck Creek Township, near Mt. Comfort. Surnames are: MCKEEMAN, ARNETT,
DUNN, EASTES, HENDERSON, and HARVEY. I have relatives buried in the
Arnett, Dunn and Eastes Cemeteries in Buck Creek Township. Two
"cousins" have contacted me within the past couple of months and
provided tons of information. One of them, LeRoy Eastes, has written a
book "The Eastes Family of Indiana."
I'm looking for more information on William Arnett, Jr. who married
Lucinda Eastes May 31, 1823, in Franklin County, Ind., but then moved to
Buck Creek Township. His brother Shadrach is written about in the
History of Hancock County as having come to Buck Creek Township in 1831
with his father, but no mention is made of William, Jr. When did Jr.
die? Where is he buried? He is not in the Arnett Cemetery but maybe he
is in the Eastes Cemetery with his wife--??
I will gladly share any information I have on these surnames.
