Got your "Widvey" message through INHAN- When I was a youngster, I lived in
Jackson Twp., Hancock Co., IN- went to grade school at Charlottesville, IN.
Down the road from us lived a family named Maroski (sp?). He did the farming
for us "on shares". He was married to a woman who had a daughter by first
marriage named Betty Widvey. She was a friend of mine, very light blonde
hair, as
I remember. Is this the same family? If so, do you know what happened to
Betty?
I have contributed many bios to the Hancock Co., site and am trying to find
some of the people I knew back then.

Please accept my appology for the lateness of this reply.
Untill I started my family research in 1998 I new very little of family info.
I did not know that I had relitives other than my mother and fathers families
and one grandfather on my fathers side.
As to the Widvey's I knew nothing till I got to digging and my older sister
had done family research yrs. ago and did not share her info with the rest of
the family. So it was dig and dig, search and search.
I do not know of the girl you mentioned, however I will say that she has to
be of my grandmothers family for the Widvey's came over from
Norway and my grandmother's father Olef Smit Widvey was the only Widvey in
that area till his children grew up and got married and had children. Any
Widvey in that area has to be relation to me and my family.
I will put your emil in my Widvey file and check it out when I get back from
MN as I am planning on going and meeting these people coming over from Norway
and taking an photo album of the twins that are in my grandmothers downline.
Her father was a twin, I have a set of twins, a nephew has a set of twins, a
niece has a set of twins, a cousin's son has a set of twins and I have a
grandson that has a set of twins. So I feel we are unique in the downline of
Widvey's all having sets of twins.
Recently talking to a cousin here that is a Widvey relitive she related as
her g grandfather was a brother to my grandmother and her mother is a twin.
Trying to get a pic of her to put in my twin picture album.
Sorry to ramble on. I do thank you for the info on this Betty Widvey you
went to school with.
I will have to check out the Hancock Co. site for your bios. There is so
little put on the site and which there were more on the genealogy of people that
lived in that county. I do my family research by long distance (I line in
AZ) and library books or Heritage Quest online publications.
I have found sunames of my family but can not trace them to anyone that I
know names of. I have been to the Greenfield Pub. Lib. and found little of value
to my research. I have been to Shelby, Henry, Jefferson Co. Libraries and
they have whole rooms devoted to family research. Even the little town of
Spiceland, IN has more than Greenfield has in way of family research I was there
this past summer
and was resonabley impressed.
Even the Knightstown Pub. Lib. has half of their uper floor for genealogy and
a basement full of books.
I do get to rambleing. It is getting to the time where I am going to have to
use the FHC in Mesa. But have found even they do not have correct info on
part of my family as I have found info that continues where their research has
stopped so they have wrong parents for some of my ancestors wives died and
remaried and had more children by the second wife.
Drat. I will close for now. Talking research is do have some concerns on
some records and the misinformation that is going out.
