Madolyn,
I'm related through the Murnans (or so it seems - a recent discovery for
me!), and I have just recently received a ton of Murnan data from Alan Kohn
of Illinois, another Murnan descendant. I think a lot of his data he got
through Michael Krannawitter, who has done quite a bit of research on the
various Murnan lines. I haven't managed to get through all of the data Alan
sent me, but I do have this:
Nancy Murnan, born 28 Aug 1815 in Indiana, died 1 Nov 1888 in Axtell,
Marshall county, Kansas.
married Samuel Shockley 8 Nov 1837. Samuel is son of Purnell Shockley and
Phoebe Taylor. Samuel born 12 May 1812 in Flemington, Kent county,
Kentucky, and died 24 Jan 1869 in Axtell, Kansas. Listed 1850 Census in
Hancock county, Sugar Creek Twp, Indiana - occupation, farmer.
And there's tons more on both descendants and Murnan ancestors too. Let me
know what info you'd like and I can send it to you (though there might be a
slight delay until I get it all input to my genealogy program).
