[Transcribed on April 25, 2008 by RLJ from a digital photo of the original newspaper on

James Byron RECORD, aged 68, a resident of Highland Township, living a short distance from
Calvertville, died in a Louisville hospital where he had gone for an operation, but his
physical condition was such that the operation was never performed. He had been in
failing health for some time.
Mr. RECORD was especially well-known as a successful fruit grower and had a wide
acquaintance through this section of the county. He is survived by the widow, three sons,
James, Vaughn and Early, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred NELSON, of Clinton, Indiana, and
Mrs. Don WORKMAN, of this city.
The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Calvertville church, and
interment was in Grand View Cemetery, Bloomfield.
