I too would be happy to translate, scan or input data but I can't be there either. I
live in Monroe County, Indiana, which is next to Greene County, but can't get to
Greene often. Both of my grandparents are from Greene County (Center Twp.). My e-mail is
djshieldcarter(a)yahoo.com.

If anyone can get copies etc., of what needs to be transcribed and are
willing to snail mail - or even scan - them to me I will do my best to
transcribe. I live in Tacoma, Washington but have done transcribing for
Jennings, Shelby, Vanderburg and a few in Illinois. If this can be done
then e-mail me for my address - - I can always check the county site for
their way of doing it if need be. Of course I don't know how to put them
up on the website but I will be most happy to transcribe and send them to
who can - by the way who has the Greene County Indiana genealogy site?
Possibly they are already involved in trying to do this. Best check with
them first off.

No those years have not been abstracted. There appears to be no interest
in gathering that information. I have tried to get someone interested in
just volunteering, but can not find anyone to come into the Historical
Society. There are some very early land records that need to be abstracted
also or at least photographed, as well as funeral home records, and some
marriage records from 1930 to 1960. We have indexed marriage records to
2011 on CD, minus those, the newer ones however have only the names of the
parties, and the Book and page number. But at least you can go over and
look them up. I suppose they will eventually get rid of the micro-fiche
completely. I do research for people for hire and have no time to do all
that work, plus work 3 days a week at the society, needless to say I am
getting burned out very quickly. I would say there should have been
applications for those particular years, but why no one ever abstracted
them, I do not know. Nor do I know of a!
nyone that did that work, sometimes you can find them on
ancestry.com,
but you have to have a subscrption and then you had better check for sure.
Sorry I couldn't help more.
