My grandmother is Irene Mathilda Page. She died in 1983 and is buried with her father,
John s page and mother, Margaret j Denny, in Linton, Indiana. Both Irene and her
daughters Shirley and Delores also claimed that George Denny was a Scotsman. This version
of the family history sounds very much like the version told to me by Robert Potts,
grandson of John and Margaret. I did find some Denny family history info on the
"find a grave" website claiming George was of Irish decent. There is a US
census that shows both George and his wife were born in Ireland. However, i have no other
evidence other than what Irene Page, Shirley, Delores and Robert Potts told me. The
family was Presbyterian. Could George or his family have immigrated from Scotland to
Northern Ireland? I would be interested in sharing info with others.
