Thank you so much Don for your responce. No, my grandmother hasn't said why her and my
grandfather aren't standing side by side, but my mother has a theory. Gaylord and Red
(Albert) were buddies and she thinks maybe they wanted to be sure they were next to each
other in the picture. As thrilled as my grandmother looks in the picture, maybe it's a
good thing Ruth is between them.
Gladys thought Homer might be the man sitting next to her father Fred. She doesn't
rememeber having much to do with any of her father's siblings except for Uncle Homer
and Aunt Pearl. I don't have a Margret, did your Margret marry a John Carpenter? If
so, that is "my" Aunt Pearl. Ira wouldn't be in the picture, according to
William Sheffler's obit, he died in 1919.
The picture isn't cut off on the right, but it is a little fuzzy. I scanned it several
times, but that was as clear as I could get it. Thank you again for your help.
