Hi. Ran across your reply to the query about Henry Richard Fields & Margaret Maude
Lester. I am working the Family Tree for one of Henry Richard Fields' grandsons
(living). We do not know the names of Henry Richard Fields' parents. We have all the
Census info you've stated in your reply, which give Henry Richard as being born in
Illinois. There is a "Richard Fields" (born Illinois) in the household of
William Fields, age 42, Head, b. Indiana; wife Louisa, age 39, b. Indiana, abt 1831, in
Crawford County, Palestine twsp, Illinois, in the 1870 US Census. Other children in that
household are Hiram, age 12, b. Illinois abt 1858; Sintha, age 5, b. Illinois abt 1865,
and "Richard" is just 9mos. old, b. Illinois. Can't find this family in the
1880 Census. Looked at the 1860 Census for any of the above names. Found possible match
searching Louisa Fields, found in Greene County, Fairplay Twsp, Indiana, House #336,
Family #337. Husband is William, age 30, b. Indiana abt 1830. This Lou!
isa is listed as age 26, tho, b. Indiana abt 1834. One child in this household,
"transcribed" as Fields, Hine F, age 2, but born "Indiana" abt. 1858.
Because this 1860 Census record is so difficult to read I was thinking that perhaps the
transcriber got the child's name wrong and that it actually may be the very same
"Hiram" from the above 1870 Census Illinois. My vivid imagination carries me to
another leap that the connection is Greene County and the name "Richard". That
"Richard" is actually Henry Richard and ultimately returned to Greene County
later and married Margaret Lester.
After all this confusing conjecture, could somebody please weigh in on who the parents of
HENRY RICHARD FIELDS really are??? Please help. Thank you!
