John and Saundra,
There are many similarities in the names, locations, and dates between
our Owens lists. Much of my Owens information comes from a booklet
about Ownesburg, IN, that I got there in 1991. The booklet was
published by the town of Ownesburg (Greene County) and describes the
town's beginnings and history. There is a piece on Lilburn Owens for
whom the town was named and an interesting letter he wrote in August 4,
1861, describing crops, war rumors, and neighbor and family news. He is
the brother of Sarah Owens Odell Inman, my ggggrandmother. I also have
a copy of their father's will (John Owens) signed in 1855 and verified
by the Lawrence County, IN, court clerk in 1858 following his death.
John Owens property was in Bedford, IN, where they lived. The will
lists his children and also gives the daughter's married names: Rosanna
Woody, Sarah Odell, Elizabeth Keriker(?), Mary Carson. The sons are
Marshall, Owen, Lilburn, and Zeba (could be Ziba). I can scan copies of
the Lilburn Owens pieces and the will and attach them to email if you
are interested.

We have the information because of our Grayson and Edmondson family research.
Also MASON is of interest to us as Ray Mason b 1909 m Helen Heshelman.
We are also (H)eshelman researchers -- this family is from Coshocton OH.
Ray and Helen Mason recently died and we are searching MASON for their
children and grandchildren. My husbands mother was an Edmondson, her mother
was Joan Elizabeth Heshelman. All lived Greene, Daviess, Lawrence and Martin
Counties IN.
Would be interested in more of your Owens line.
Thanks,
John and Saundra Carr
