Mary,
I saw you had listed Ellingsworth on the Greene Co., IN, surname list.
This will make no sense to you whatsoever, I'm sure.
I have a picture taken about the turn of the century in Nebraska of
Arthur
Ellingsworth who looks to be about 3-4 years old - beautiful child. It was
among other pictures that came to me in a collection so I don't know
whether it belonged to my grandparents or great grandparents. I have never
been able to trace little Arthur in Nebraska through soundexing. Tonight I
did find some Ellingsworth marriages listed on the Dawson Co. records but
spouse names didn't mean anything.
Ellingsworth's parents might have been related, might have been
friends or
whatever, but his picture has bugged me for years.
I decided to do a broad census search tonight to see where
Ellingsworths
were located and discovered the ones in Greene Co. My great grandmother
came from Sullivan Co., IN; her family went to Nebraska in 1869. I've never
found an Ellingsworth connection but she does have a missing half-aunt and
grandmother by the 1870 census.
Have you ever known of any Ellingsworths who went to Nebraska or who
related to names in Indiana such as Oaks, Carson, Lloyd, Ransford,
Bridwell, Lyster, Hawn?
Thank you very much for your time.
