Does anyone if funeral homes are required to keep records and if so, for how long?
Also what happens to the records if the funeral home is not in existence anymore.
I have been struggling trying to find the burial place of Edward Franklin Page.
I did find the following which gives a date of his death, however I have been unable to
find a burial location and thought maybe funeral home records might contain that
information.
In the "Bloomfield Democrat" weekly newspaper dated Jan. 25, 1884.
Dresden Doings" (title) In other items of interest, E.F. Page, a well known resident
of this place died on last Thursday, at the residence of Jacob Ashcraft. He was 81 years
of age and had been a resident of Dresden for 23 years, at which place he worked at his
trade, shoemaking, unless the last three years of his life which he spent with his
son-in-law."
Jacob Ashcraft was his son in law and i know that there is Ashcraft Chapel Cemetary near
Dresden, however i cannot find any record there of his burial. The same is true also for
Edwards wife Mary (Downs) Page.
Also, Is there a list of cemetarys arounds Dresden anywhere?
Any ideas?
Thanks
