I am interested in knowing the present location of the following
Greene County, Indiana, school records.
School Examiner's Record, 1867-1876, 1 volume [1935, located in the
County Superintendent's office.]
Annual Teacher's Reports, 1933-. 2 file drawers [1935, located in the
County Superintendent's office.]
Enumeration Field Book, 1929-1930, 14 volumes [1935, located in the
County Superintendent's office.]
Enumerations, 1924-, 3 file drawers [1935, located in the County
Superintendent's office.]
Licenses, 1924-[1935, located in the County Superintendent's office.]
Record of Common and High School Graduates, 1912-, 2 volumes, 1 file
drawer [1935, located in the County Superintendent's office.]
In 1935 the Greene County Superintendent of School's office was
located in the southeast corner of the second floor of the Greene
County Courthouse.
I am interested in knowing if these records still exist. Since the
records listed above all existed prior to 1938, the records of the
Greene County Commission on Public Records should have a record of any
transfer/disposal. [Greene County Commission on Public Records
created by the Indiana General Assembly 1937; effective 1938.] The
Commission on Public Records records should be in the office of the
Greene County Clerk, since that office serves as the Secretary of the
Commission on Public Records.
I am, at this time, interested in ANY record of the students who
attended Ellis School, Stockton Township.
If anyone has any information concerning these records you may contact
me or Tom Mitchell.
Tom's e-mail address is: Tom Mitchell mailto:tom.m@tyler.net
Thanks in advance for any information that anyone can forward to me or
Tom.
[Tom, I didn't forget. Still working on my backlog of
history/genealogy questions, etc.]
