I think we've all heard enough about spam and dirty messages. Let's get back
to genealogy and history, the topics this list is all about. I apologize to
all the new members here for these off-topic messages.
For the new folks that would like to share their information or family
names, I'm listing the lines I'm working on. Maybe we have a common line or
2.
My lines: Holtsclaw/Holtzclaw, Watson, Carmichael, Workman, Payne,
Naught/Nought/Knot, Burcham, Heaton, Harden/Hardin, Bingham, Shields, Bays.
I don't have a lot of info on some of these lines, particularly Naught,
Shields & Harden. The one line I've really been stuck on, for years!, is the
Harden family. I'd really like to know if my David Harden was a brother to
Adam Harden who married Sarah Catherine Heaton (d/o William & Nancy Stone
Heaton) and if both of these men were sons of William & Elizabeth Harden,
who are listed on the 1850 Monroe Co., IN Census. If anyone knows anything
about this Harden family, please contact me! Possible wives of David:
Elizabeth J. Merrit (m. 24 Feb. 1852, Monroe Co.), Mary Jane King (m. 29
Oct. 1859, Monroe Co.). My David m. Martha Jane Carmichael Cullison Dobson
in Greene Co. on 12 Aug. 1879. (She m. 2 more times after David's death to a
Hendrickson & then a Kingery.)
My husband's lines in Greene Co.: Martindale, Royal, Vaughn (also in Owen
Co.), Marsh and Wright (more recent generations).
Diane :)
