THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Friday, March 29, 1907, Volume
XXXI, Number 19, Page 1, Column 6, “OBITUARY—Crane.” [Transcribed 28 Jan 2002 from
Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library’s IHS Microfilm Records.]
Ada (CASNER) CRANE was born November 22, 1884; died March 19,1907, aged twenty-two years,
three months and twenty-seven days.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. CASNER and was married to J. C. CRANE, June 30,
1906. To this union was born one child, March 13, 1907. At that time typhoid fever
developed and all was done that loving hands could do, but the disease could not be
checked and nature had to yield—her spirit took its flight to God who gave it.
She professed a hope and faith in Christ at an early age and united with the M. E. church
in Newark. She was an active and loyal member, held the office of Sunday school
superintendent and organist. Thus in early life another jewel ha been garnered, leaving
behind for the husband and other relatives and friend a true and generous nature, a life
as a model worthy of our imitation. E.
